Dearest family and friends, it’s time to come together to support The McBride Family while they struggle through a traumatic hardship. On Monday, August 27, Andy was admitted emergently to the University Medical Center Las Vegas with a very serious condition called guillaine-barre syndrome. He was visiting Vegas with a couple friends for a weekend getaway and while he left with an icky cold, it quickly progressed into the life threatening syndrome.
He was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he was evaluated and sent to the critical care unit. After emergent tests and decreasing stability, Andy was intubated and put into a medically induced coma to keep him comfortable and give him a chance to rest.
Mindy flew out immediately after finding out he was rushed to the hospital and is staying with him while he receives critical care and becomes stable enough to be flown back to Minnesota, which could be a week or more.
Medical bills, ambulance rides, med flight home, hotel bills, flights, food, support, and child care coverage while Andy recovers are all expenses that we can help with.
