Hello friends,

This will be my 11th running of the Boston Marathon for the MEF. I have always run for Matty’s Team because I want people to remember Matty and what the foundation has done in the 25 years since his death.

The MEF supports hotlines for parents, education programs for caregivers, and support for victims and families, as well as a children’s advocacy center. Our donations help support children who don’t have a voice.

Matty was part of our family at BWH. The most significant fact about abusive head trauma is that it is entirely preventable. Thank you for remembering him and supporting the mission.

The Matty Eappen Foundation is dedicated to preventing Abusive Head Trauma through public awareness and education and to providing assistance to victims and their families.

Matty Eappen died at the age of eight months as a result of being violently shaken by a caregiver. This foundation was established in his memory to improve the safety and welfare of children by educating the public about the dangers of shaking a child and to provide assistance to victims and their families.
