George Mathew - IT Engineer by profession - left his career to pursue the call of the Lord to Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. After graduation, he began working in the church’s IT department, shortly after which he left by guidance of the Holy Spirit. He was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his shoulder half a year later.

He was admitted to the Ascension St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, OK soon after. The doctors then diagnosed him with an aggressive cancer that had spread to his shoulder bone, lungs, and hip. They said there was nothing they could do to help, because the cancer had already progressed too much.

Arrangements were made to transfer George to a hospice closer to home, a wonderful place with amazing staff who loved him and loved on him all the time. Over the next and final few weeks that he stayed there, his family would visit him almost every day, to spend time with and enjoy George and the vitality and life that he still showed. He gave them advice, comfort, and gentle yet firm reminders of how good our God is.

He ended his earthly walk here on Earth on the 11th of December, 2023 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family and few beloved friends.

He was a man of faith through and through. From the beginning to the end, he would constantly confess Scripture, pray - both for himself and for others - and worship the Lord with all his heart. He never let anyone worry over him; he would constantly worry for others instead. He leaves behind his precious wife, Sunu, and their three sons, Rohi, Hanok, and Yehudah, to walk with the Lord in His glorious Presence.

With George now being present with the Lord, his family does not have the financial resources they once had access to, which is also the reason for this fundraiser. We hope to raise the money to aid them in purchasing a home, and help them establish their stay in the US. Moving back to India is currently not an option, due to Sunu’s sons being in college and their being situated here for this season of their lives.
