My name is Amy and I’ve come to know this family over the last 3 years. They are kind and haven’t asked for much more than rides from us in the past. Today was another scary moment for this family. I was given permission from Cervera to open this account to help them out financially.

In July 2025, Cervera suffered a series of strokes and spent days in the hospital. Upon further testing it was found that she had other aneurysms that were developed and could rupture at any time. They would have to set up various doctors appointments and testings to monitor her condition. After several years of asking for rides from family, friends, and neighbors, they were gifted money to purchase a small SUV. This was a huge relief for the family to get to the places they needed to on a daily basis–appointments, school, store, etc.

Today, August 9th 2025, Cervera’s husband, son, neighbor, daughter and friend were in a 3 car accident which totaled their car. They were rear ended and pushed into an oncoming vehicle. Everyone was very blessed today. Her neighbor, son and daughter were taken to the ER for further evaluation. A fractured wrist, sprained knee, a possible concussion, and some very sore muscles is what they walked away with.

This is also her daughter’s senior year of school. This SUV was going to be something special for her daughter to have to get back and forth to school and evening practices. They were also planning for her to attend a marching band competition to Iowa in October, which has a balance left on it.

Anything and every little bit helps. Cervera has many follow up appointments scheduled in STL and physical therapy that she must get to for her stroke recovery. Getting financial help for these new bills and a replacement car would be a blessing.
