Hello everyone

I'm Lottie and I run Blue Fire Theatre Company, which is a self-funded business producing small scale plays and a podcast that tell untold stories about forgotten people of history.

After taking a year away from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe we're going back with a brand new show and we'd really appreciate your help to get there.

The Fringe has always been an expensive venture but this year it's more difficult than ever. The main thing that has increased in cost is the one thing we have to have - accommodation, so we're hoping that this crowdfunder will help us fund putting a roof over our heads.

What's the show about? Well...

When we were looking for a person to write a new show about we found that nearly all the women we found were called Mary. So we're doing a show about all of them! All of the "Bloody Marys" - including the cocktail!

Our work has always been educational as well as entertaining and this show is no different. There is currently a buzz around working class people not having access to or appetite for history and we're trying hard in our own little way to change this. But it is becoming increasingly difficult; there is no external funding for small companies like us so all production costs (rehearsal space, fees for creatives and technicians, PR, travel, costume, venue hire, advertising, etc..) are self-funded and I'm hoping they'll be recovered with ticket sales.

It's so tough for everyone at the moment , we know, so anything you can do to help is really appreciated.
