My Mom, Martie Tamer is a force of nature-not to be reckoned with; however, she has a heart of gold and has devoted her life to helping others.
Her Father, Floyd Hughett - a Navy Veteran died young, when my Mom was only 16. She then had to take charge and care for her Mom, Grandmother, and two younger sisters. She has only known how to work hard her entire life.
She has been a dedicated Civil Servant at the VA Medical Center in Indianapolis for the past 33 years. She LOVED her job there and all of the people she worked with -- but at this time she is heartbroken as her request for extended leave under the donated leave program was DENIED and she is forced to immediately retire. She has been without pay for over a month. I'm extremely proud of her diligence - she only had 3 months left to pay off some major bills and was planning on retiring in June anyway.
I know in the course of 33 years at the VA - she gave to lots of various charities and even gave her annual leave to those in need. We are IN THIS TOGETHER - and any help - even $5.00 would be greatly appreciated.
