The Marlins (Almost) 24 Hour Relay 2024
Donation protected
On Saturday 20 July, the Marlins will swim "The (Almost) 24-Hour Relay"!
Two relay teams will continuously swim from 7am to 11pm. That is 16 hours of straight swimming (which is almost 24 hours, right?). It's family FUN, it's social, it's fitness, and it's our big annual fundraiser.
This year we ask your help to raise $5,000. We would like to build a Marlins Spirit Wall / Trophy Display in the North Shore Winter Club. We want swimmers, their families, and guests of the club to see a visual display of our success in the pool as well as a showcase of our team spirit. Many say Marlins is a sports team like no other and we want to shout it proud all year with a Marlins Spirit Wall and Trophy Display.
Also, the Marlins tents which we take to swim meets to make our home base called Marlinville, are showing their wear. We hope to raise enough money to start to repair or replace our tents. The Marlins trailer in which we tow our tents to swim meets is also in need of some love. It is towed to meets on the Island, Kamloops, Port Coquitlam, Squamish, etc, etc - it's seen a lot of road! And sadly it is nearing the end of its road.
Please consider a donation and support your Marlin!
Our swim team relies upon its registration fees, fundraising and the steam of parent volunteers to build a swim season. Our (Almost!) 24 Hour Relay combines fundraising with a super fun event for all ages (including parents, siblings and Marlins alumni). It's a win for everyone!
Your support is very much appreciated.
With gratitude,
