Update (4/25)
We are so excited to share that after 98 days in the NICU, Elowyn was able to come home on April 20th. She currently weighs 4lb 12oz.
Our entire family is so grateful for all of the love and support we’ve received, and continue to receive, throughout this process. It cannot be overstated how appreciative we are for everyone’s donations, words of support, and willingness to share our journey with others. From the bottom of our hearts, we love and thank you all.
Update (3/26)
Today is day 73 in the NICU.
Elowyn continues to improve and, after 22 days in Syracuse, she was transferred back to the Arnot NICU. She currently weighs 3lbs 10oz
Update (3/14):
Today Elowyn is officially 2 months old and now weighs 3lbs 6oz!
Hello everyone,
We’ve had several people reach out and ask how they could help Whitney and Brandon during this time, so we decided to make a fundraiser for those who would like to help.
For some background: After multiple rounds of IVF over the last few years, Whitney and Brandon learned that they were expecting and due to have their first child, Elowyn, in April of this year. Unfortunately, Elowyn was born premature at 25 weeks in mid-January weighing just 1lb 6oz.
Elowyn spent her first month in the Arnot NICU, but last week they decided she needed a higher level of care, and she was transferred to Syracuse.
Unfortunately, with Elowyn’s transfer to Syracuse, some return to work plans had to be halted. This process has been very emotionally and physically taxing; but additional expenses are now adding up as well. Aside from the obvious medical costs, they now have to factor in travel, meals while away from home, boarding their German Shepherd, Sam, etc.
If you would like to help support Whitney and Brandon during this time, it would be greatly appreciated. Any amount helps to alleviate some stress that inevitably comes with having a premature birth. And we genuinely thank anyone who is able and willing to lend a helping hand.
