The Mark Voelker Community Fitness & Weight Room Fund
This fund has been created in loving memory of Mark Voelker (October 10, 1949 – February 7, 2026)—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, educator, coach, and mentor who believed deeply in the power of movement, strength, and community.
For 36 years, Mark served as a high school social studies and economics teacher in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Beyond the classroom, he spent countless hours coaching, mentoring, and encouraging young people—often in the weight room—helping them grow not only physically, but in confidence, discipline, and character.
Fitness was a lifelong passion for Mark. He believed that movement builds resilience, community builds strength, and shared spaces create opportunity. In that spirit, this fund will be used to expand, improve, and beautify the Circle Woods community fitness and weight room, ensuring it remains an inspiring space for future generations.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Voelker family invites those who wish to honor Mark’s legacy to contribute to this fund. Every donation—large or small—helps continue the work he loved: building strength, supporting community, and investing in the future.
Thank you for remembering Mark and for helping his passion live on.
