Battling a Tragedy:
On Wednesday December 30th, the Borchardt-Oslie family unexpectedly lost a treasured member. So many have visited, phoned and sent messages to the family relaying their heartfelt sorrow. Many others continue to ask, “what else can I do?”
Stacy was an accomplished nurse of 20 years. She was active in the community, volunteering and organizing events that benefited her neighbors and friends. She always put others before herself. For greater than one year, Stacy battled an illness that caused severe pain. She fought for herself, seeking the care of multiple medical providers and undergoing countless tests and painful procedures to find the cause of her pain and more importantly, the cure. Despite her vigilance and hard fought battle no answers were provided. As her pain worsened, despair set in. Our sweet Stacy could see no way out of the intense physical and emotional pain she suffered and ended her life as a result.
21 years ago, Jeff and Stacy planned for the unexpected. They purchased life insurance to protect their family and their future in the event of a tragedy. After their 20 year term policy had ended, they once again decided to purchase insurance with a different company. 15 months ago they got their affairs in order and solidified shielding their family for many years to come. On Friday, January 1st they learned that their policy had a 24 month suicide exclusionary period. The family is now left with a fraction of which they intended to have to protect their family’s future, pay for medical bills, funeral expenses and higher education for their two sons, Carter (17) and Alec (21).
Your calls, prayers, messages and visits are all the family is asking for at this time. However, if you feel compelled to do more, the Borchardt-Oslie family is setting a goal to help provide security to this family for years to come.
Thank you for your prayers and all your gifts - in all their forms.
