The Man From Before - A Slasher Short Film

Hi everyone! My name is Matthew, and I'm a Film Directing student from Northern Ireland. I'm currently studying a Masters at MetFilm School (London) and am about to embark on my final project which is where I need your help.

My self-written short horror film ‘The Man From Before’ is the story of a family, two brothers and their partners who, in the weeks following the aftermath of a car crash, have their home broken into by a man from their past and are left fighting for their lives.

With help from my fellow students studying other filmmaking practices, I want to create this in a style reminiscent of the classic slashers of the 1970s and 80s with drawn-out tension and gruesome practical visual effects.

The money donated to this project will be used towards renting the location, creating the prosthetic effects, hiring actors, costume and production design, and catering.

Successful completion of the project will allow us to aim for entries into film festivals and conventions and allow us to kickstart our careers into the world of filmmaking.
