A SURPRISE for Richard Young and The Magicians' Podcast
Listeners of the Magicians Podcast may be aware that the series, and podcast itself, is coming to a close after 100 episodes.
Every episode has provided value, entertainment and insight into the amazing magic industry. However, most importantly, it’s provided a public record which will be drawn upon for years to come.
Richard Young started the project from scratch and has ended up with a professional, polished podcast with the biggest names in Magic. All of this journey has been undertaken with great passion and without consideration of the financial cost. There is advertising on the podcast but this rarely covers the cost of each episode and that’s without taking into account the cost of his own time.
In the final episode Richard interviewed David Copperfield in Las Vegas. Richards passion and willingness to make the podcast the best it could be, meant that the entire trip was funded from his own pocket. It’s a good example of the commitment he has made throughout all 100 episodes.
We have been approached by 2 listeners (Andrew Green and Rob Harper) asking for a way to show appreciation for all that Richard has done. In light of that we are setting up this Go Fund Me campaign.
The goal is to reimburse Richard for the expenses that have amounted over the years. In turn this may encourage other magicians to come forward, put their necks on the line and try to create something that benefits the whole magic community.
Many thanks for giving this consideration.
P.S Although there is the temptation to encourage donations by sharing or promoting this page, PLEASE remember this is a surprise for Richard Young to be presented to him by his cohost on the final episode.
