The Lynnette Morrill Lota Arts Scholarship is an annual scholarship supporting graduating seniors of East Bay High School who plan to pursue studies in the arts.
Created in honor of the late Lynnette Morrill Lota — longtime leader of the East Bay High School Drama Department and a beloved mentor to generations of students — this scholarship continues her legacy by helping young artists take their next step. Mrs. Lota believed deeply in the power of creativity, collaboration, and education, and many of her students went on to become performers, designers, filmmakers, writers, and teachers themselves.
Each year, funds raised through this GoFundMe are awarded directly to East Bay High School seniors pursuing theater, music, visual arts, dance, film, or arts education — including future drama teachers who hope to inspire others the way Mrs. Lota inspired us.
As we begin reviewing this year’s candidates, we invite you to help keep her spirit alive. Your contribution, no matter the size, helps remove financial barriers and encourages the next generation of artists to follow their passion.
Thank you for honoring Mrs. Lota’s legacy and for supporting the arts in our community. Thank you to Thespian Troupe 3020 for the additional gift of $200 per scholarship.
