The Luckiest Man Alive is a drama short film directed by Maggie MacDonell and produced by Rowland Scheessele. Imagine getting to tie the knot with your life long crush. You must be pretty lucky right? After a lifetime of being head over-heels for Chelsey, Caden finally gets to spend forever with her, making him the luckiest man alive.
The Luckiest Man Alive is the 2nd collaboration between director Maggie MacDonell and producer Rowland Scheessele following Drowned, an experimental short film about a waitress drowning under the stresses of the world. Drowned will soon be finished and submitted to festivals by the end of Summer 2024 and The Luckiest Man Alive will be submitted not long after.
With your generous support, we're hoping to raise $2000 to bring this production to life. 100% of the funds will go towards the development of this film. That includes paying our actors, feeding our cast and crew, acquiring props, renting equipment, reserving locations, and sending the finished product to festivals. Any donation is greatly appreciated no matter the amount.
Filming will take place in the Grand Rapids area during the latter half of July. We aim to meet our goal by July 10th. Donors will be credited in the final credits of the film, though donors can remain anonymous if they so choose.
Many of the crew members from Drowned will be returning to work on The Luckiest Man Alive. Our crew is primarily made up of alumni from the Grand Valley State University film program. We are independent filmmakers wishing to expand our skills and produce creative work to express our passion and talents and build our reputation.
