Help the Lubalin Family After a Traumatic Accident

Dear friends and community, my name is Franca DiGiammatteo and I am reaching out wholeheartedly on behalf of my close friend Liza Lubalin to ask for your assistance in sustaining Liza and her family after a traumatic incident occurred.

On February 7th, 2023, an evening walk turned into a nightmare for the Lubalin family. Liza, being at my house alongside my sister, received a phone call from the police that her mother was involved in a hit and run and was being rushed to Sunnybrook Trauma Center for emergency surgery. Elena Lubalin was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, as a pedestrian crossing at a stop sign, resulting in two broken legs, multiple torn ligaments, a torn ACL, a bilateral broken pelvis and severe trauma to the head and brain resulting in multiple surgeries for internal bleeding.

After multiple surgeries at Sunnybrook and being in intensive care, she has now finally been moved to Cortellucci Hospital until she heals and is strong enough to go to a rehabilitation facility. Elena has been bedridden since the accident.

Being a single mother with no extended family in the country, Elena is the sole provider for herself along with her daughter Liza, and her son Dennis. Anyone that knows Elena personally, knows that she is the most selfless and caring woman, who would do anything for her children. We need your help in ensuring that she is able to enter her recovery process comfortably knowing that her son and daughter are taken care of, and are able to make ends meet financially. For anyone that knows what being a mother entails, understands that regardless of circumstances, their children will always come first.

The DiGiammatteo family considers Liza as one of our own, and we hold her brother and mother extremely close to our hearts. We pray that they are able to overcome these devastating circumstances, and with our help, I am positive we can do so. Any donation would help, even a simple share would go a long way.
