My name is Shelby Ruger. I am the sister-in-law to Thomas Ruger, whom this go-fund-me is for. First and foremost, I would like to introduce Thomas to those of you who don’t know him and may have come across this fundraiser through a family member, social media or news outlet. Thomas was an exceptionally proud father to his daughter, Isabella. A dedicated son to his mother, Bonnie, and his father, Rich. Thomas is survived by his two brothers, the eldest, Nicholas, and younger, Ryan. Thomas was proud of the man he had become, much like the rest of anyone who knew him. He was always so full of energy and life. Those who knew him will often say he’ll be most remembered for his obnoxiously loud, contagious laugh or his charismatic, playful infectious energy. Thomas simply wanted to spend any free time he had making cherished memories with his beloved daughter. Thomas loved living the “lake life” and relished the freedom that came with it. Thomas was unexpectedly taken from this earth at just 30 years old at the hands of someone else. While his departure is still being investigated, his family is left to cover the expenses for afterlife care. To ease the financial strain put on his grieving family, if you feel inclined to contribute, anything remaining after the cost of his arrangements will be directly left to his daughter.
