Hello Lovely People!
I'm reaching out today, my birthday, to ask for your support with the Love Is Storytelling Project which explores the concept of love as a force for social and personal change through a series of intimate interviews. It is a project that sits at the heart of many genres and expressions. It is at the same time an oral history, storytelling, documentary, art and project of healing which as a public artist, I created with the intention of being freely available to everyone.
The premise is simple: I sit down with a broad range of people known and unknown and ask them a series of reflective but relatable questions about their relationship to and thoughts on the subject of love. From these conversations, I craft segments for a meditative podcast series as well as a soundtrack for an audio installation. To date I’ve published 35 interviews which are available online, gratis, to anyone who’d like to listen.
I started this project at a particularly challenging time when I felt the need for something of substance to hold onto. It has in many ways saved my life and has proved to be a cathartic and healing experience for those who have taken part as well as for those who have listened in.
The support I’m seeking is not solely monetary in nature though of course, donations will be supremely helpful in sustaining this important work and keeping it freely available to the world at no charge. I very much welcome donations in kind. Perhaps you can connect me to folks who would love to fund a project like this.
