Hello,
Our names are Claudia Murray-Collins and Christian Murray. On Sunday, November 23, 2025, my sister and I tragically lost both of our parents in a very sudden and unexpected single-vehicle car accident. My parents, Daniel (57) and Johnnie Christine Murray (49) of Georgetown, Alabama, were lost immediately. My parents met in 1992 at my uncle's corner store in Needham, Alabama. My dad bought my mom a Coke and told his cousin, "I am going to marry that girl." My parents were married in 1995, and I was born in 1996. My sister, Christian, followed soon after in late 1997. My parents built a life of love through sickness and in health, through both tragedy and triumph. My dad was a retired maintenance engineer for Mobile County School Systems, and my mama was a stay-at-home wife who devoted her time to loving our dad, loving her girls, and her family and friends. But they mostly devoted their time to loving their three beautiful grandsons, Finlin (5), Wyatt (1), and Kayce (1 month). Their grandsons were their pride and joy! There was never a moment where they did not speak of us, our spouses, or our boys.
Through storms… Through injuries… Through life… They stayed side by side, and that's how they left this world—together.
My parents left behind myself and my sister, our spouses Matthew and Anthony, our three boys, and the rest of our family and friends and many loyal customers to their seafood business. They leave behind a life of legacy, love, and unconditional kindness. We are left to pick up the pieces of all that remains.
We have suffered so much loss since January 2025 with the passing of my Daddy's mama (Nelda), then in October we lost my Daddy's dad (Leonard "Pat" Murray.) My parents were actually coming home from my great-uncle's funeral when this accident happened.
We are asking for donations to help cover the costs of funeral and burial expenses as this was sudden and unexpected. We also ask that if you would prefer to donate directly to us, that you reach out to myself or my sister via Facebook.
We sincerely thank all of the bystanders who worked tirelessly to save our parents, and we pray that they are all able to process what they had to experience during their efforts. We do not want anyone to feel guilty for the loss of our parents, because we know how much effort was put into saving their lives.
We are grateful for all prayers, thoughts, and offers of meals sent. We could never thank our hometown of Georgetown, Alabama, enough for the outpouring of love, support, and encouragement to get us through this tragic loss in the many long days and nights ahead, but mostly through these first few holidays without our parents.
God bless you all!
