Gone Too Soon, But Forever in Our Hearts

Today, I speak with a heart that is heavy and a soul that is aching. My beloved wife, Kimberly Lassiter, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep — peaceful and quiet, just like the way she lived her life: with grace, kindness, and unwavering love.

Kimberly was more than my wife — she was my best friend, my confidant, my anchor. For 46 years, we built a life together. We weathered storms, shared laughter, and created a love that stood the test of time. She was the kind of woman who made everything feel like home, no matter where we were. Her smile could brighten any room, and her presence made this world a gentler, kinder place.

Kimberly gave so much of herself to others. She loved deeply, forgave quickly, and never passed judgment. She had an unmatched ability to comfort with just a few words or a warm hand on your shoulder. She was selfless in ways most people could never fully see — and she asked for very little in return.

Now, I find myself in a moment I never imagined arriving so soon, and certainly not like this. These tragic times are often the least expected. Losing her has left a hole in my life that I don’t know how to fill. And while my heart grieves, I am faced with the reality of honoring her memory with limited means.

It is with great humility and the deepest reluctance that I ask for assistance. I cannot afford to give Kimberly the funeral she truly deserves. I will be arranging for cremation, a difficult decision made out of necessity. If you are able to contribute in any way — even just a thought or a prayer — please know it is received with immense gratitude. Anything helps, and your kindness means more than words can express.

Kimberly, you were my whole world. I will love you until the end of my days, and I will carry you with me always. Rest gently, my love.
