Help us get The Loop to Brighton Fringe!
Donation protected
Labas, shwmae, hello!
We are Cata and Olive of 'Mind Fog Theatre' and we're taking our piece 'The Loop' to Brighton Fringe Festival this May. YAY!
One might wonder 'Why are you doing this, this is insane, get a real job' Great question, Rishi Sunak, we're glad you brought it up.
'The Loop' is an autobiographical piece about living with OCD which Olive wrote during our postgraduate degree as an outlet for her own experiences with OCD, but also to inform audiences about the reality of living with it - that OCD is a serious mental health disorder that is highly disruptive and severely misunderstood, largely due to misrepresentation in the media, so spoiler alert: there will be no surprise guest appearances from Monica Geller.
Beyond the piece itself, we are both neurodivergent performers and are also both foreign to the UK, and while we still benefit from vast amounts of societal privilege, these are factors that we both feel have held us back from gaining opportunities in the industry. As such, rather than waiting for the 'right time, right place' stroke of luck that we as performers are told to wait for, we're forging our own opportunities, starting with this venture.
As exciting as this experience is, producing and staging a piece is also costly. As we're based in Cardiff, taking this to the Fringe means we also have to account for travelling, accomodation, etc. We have reached out to different organizations and foundations to request grants to help us fund this project, but to date, this project is completely independent and self-funded.
AAAAAAAND
This is where you lovely folks come in!
We want to be transparent about what this fundraiser will be going towards. These are our predicted expenses for the duration of our run at the festival:
£135 registration fee for Brighton Fringe
£875 venue hire fee for 5 performances + tech and dress rehearsals
£200 for performance insurance
£200 for marketing and publicity
£265 for transport from Cardiff to Brighton for three people
£825 for accommodation for three people for 10 nights

£2500 in total
Any amount you can spare to donate towards our efforts will be incredibly appreciated, but furthermore, sharing this with friends, family, your landlord, that questionable guy at the pub who always calls you 'Peanut', will help spread the word and hopefully reach more people who want to help support independent theatre.
We'll be sharing images and short clips as soon as we can to show you lovely folks our progress and what you're helping us achieve.
We love you, we appreciate you, we thank you,
