Steven Jeffrey Lome, 62, of Westfield, IN passed away October 18, 2016. He was born in Chicago, IL on January 22, 1954 son of Daniel and Estelle Pellar Lome.
On Labor Day weekend in 1983, Steve and Janet met on a blind date. She became the love of his life. They married on May 19, 1984 and experienced many trips together on their Gold Wing motorcycle in the following years. They had 2 beautiful children, Marie Mildred (who passed away July 5, 1992) and Joshua Samuel, who as you can see from the family photo, has grown to be a very handsome young man and one Steven and Janet are very proud of.
Steven was a lifetime student of the Universe; he built telescopes and was an amateur Astronomer. Steven received numerous awards for his telescope designs and the many scopes he built. He enjoyed woodworking, target shooting and reloading. Steven loved to play board games, Uno and Phase 10. Through the years, Steve loved his garden tractor which allowed him to spend time keeping his lawn beautiful. Even as a youngster, Josh rode with his dad on the mower and he too learned to appreciate his lawn mower.
I know there are many of you who know Janet through your work relationship, church, Weight Watchers, Race for the Cure, and the list could go on and on. She has had more than her fair share of trials and tribulations in her life. But through it all she has been the source of true inspiration for so many people over the years. Kind of the glue that held everyone together. So now it is our turn to give back to Janet and her family!!!
Unfortunately, with Steven's medical history, they were unable to obtain any insurance. If folks would like to make a donation to help we are requesting assistance for Josh and Janet as they manage through this great loss in their life.
