Point Loma Playhouse (a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity) is a small community theatre. We found ourselves, due to circumstances beyond our control, unable to use the theatre space that we had been in for almost 20 years. We were 4 weeks away from opening night of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS! So the search began to find someplace.... With such short notice, it was like finding a needle in that haystack.

Finally, we found it! An empty warehouse! We were able to get a loan to cover the month's rent, and the owners kindly let us start work the week before the beginning of the month. We have been working day and night and have it almost finished. We are so thankful for the workers and volunteers who have given their time. It is going to be an amazing show! But... This has drained us of our budget and we need help. The cost of rental is $10,500, plus the cost of materials to build the stage, paint, new toilets, lights, sound...

I am asking for help so that we can continue to provide the opportunity for the community to participate in and enjoy theatre and celebrate the shared experience and the bridges it builds.

We are also partnering with the Sister League, which supports women and children in need, as well as funding for those children who need financial assistance to participate in our children's theatre program.
