As many of you know, the Little Shepherd Preschool has been a part of our family for my whole life. It was founded in 1980 and has seen 42 classes of preschoolers enter and leave its doors over the years. It is a small community preschool that has helped many students and families looking for affordable early childhood education in their neighborhood.
This preschool is a non-profit preschool. The families that have run it, the Lukowicz and Barber families, have spent their own hard work, time, and money creating an outdoor play space that is safe, welcoming, and centered around a child's imagination and play. As many of you may have seen, in January of this year, the entire playground was unearthed due to a plumbing issue in the sewage line, and years of love, hard work, time, money, and creative space was destroyed in a day. This was devastating to watch and even more devastating to reveal to the students. The financial burden of rebuilding this playground has been solely on the shoulders of Mrs. Barber (the current director and lifelong teacher at the preschool).
We are asking the community that has been a part of our story to help in any small way you can to defer the cost for Mrs. Barber and the Preschool as we rebuild and make the space even more fun, creative, and safe for the current and future students of The Little Shepherd Preschool.
Thank you for your help, and support!
