Throughout my time of volunteering, I have always found my heart being drawn to helping the homeless. I am writing to you to ask you to assist me in my journey to help others with caring backpacks.
What are the backpacks?
The backpacks will contain many small, but useful items to help someone in need, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, water, crackers, peanut butter, and more. For the women, the backpacks will also include feminine products.
What is my Goal?
My goal is to fill and hand out 1,000 backpacks to homeless shelters across Chicago. 500 backpacks will go to men and 500 backpacks will go to women.
How can you help?
A donation of money will help me be able to buy supplies and the backpacks. You can also help by spreading the word to anyone else that may be available to donate. There are over 500,000 homeless people in America and roughly 6,000 just in the Chicago area. While my project may be a small start I am hoping that with your help we may be able to help more.
