Hola! My name is Mario Jose, I am a little 7lb Puerto Rico puppy with a big personality and I need your help! I was recently hit by a car and have a broken pelvis. My original owner could no longer care for me and neither could the neighbor man, he surrendered me to. Last weekend at the beach two vacationing women were giving me scratches and belly rubs when the neighbor asked the ladies to please take me and get me the medical help I needed and find a loving home. They agreed and I spent two wonderful days and nights with Dorothy's disaster relief team eating burgers and getting lots of attention from the volunteers. Monday came and Dorothy took me to the vet where the x-rays revealed my broken pelvis with multiple fractures. I thought I had fooled everyone by walking pretty well, but I could not fool the x-ray. I need a very serious surgery to install a plate in my pelvis it can only be performed by an Orthopedic Specialist. Without the surgery I will be unable to walk or go to the bathroom properly and the broken bones could end up perforating my bowel and or other organs. We have found an Orthopedic Specialist in the states who is ready to take my case. I am so excited to get better. Per the doctors who have reviewed by x-rays there is an urgency to get this surgery asap. The surgery will cost $3,000-$5,000, follow-up physical therapy will be $2,000 to $3,000 and of course the flight to Minneapolis to recover with my new foster humans Angela and Dorothy. Will you please help me get a chance at a full future. All funds received that exceed my medical and flight expenses will go towards the amazing organizations helping Puerto Rico pups like me.
