The Listers recovery from Hurricane Ian
Donation protected

Becky, Maggie and Tyler Lister (and their four pups, Sunny, Romeo, Piper and Dakota), have lost everything they own as a result of the storm surge from Hurricane Ian in Fort Myers Florida, and need our help.
They were able to evacuate their home in the nick of time, and during the storm, their concern lay only in the safety of their loved ones. Their first act, once able to leave their shelter, was to assist in the search and rescue of Becky's parents and neighbors who were trapped in their attics. After doing so, they were able to assess their own home, which took on over 6' of water in every room. The furniture was waterlogged, every cabinet was emptied and tossed throughout the house, and everything was covered in muck, and mold had already begun developing. Tyler is only 16 months old and has lost everything he owns aside from his favorite Mickey Mouse stuffed animal. Becky and Maggie have the clothes on their backs and nothing more. Due to the speed in which they had to evacuate, Maggie's Rav4 had to be left behind, and so they now have no home, and one vehicle for all of them.
They have insurance on everything, but this will take months and the deductibles will be crippling. They also cannot stay where they are for long, and will need to find a place to live while spending every waking moment working on their home to make it liveable again.
This family is the most loving and giving family I have ever met. Maggie is a teacher and Becky has been with Lowe's for over 20 years. They are loyal, hard-working and kind to everyone they meet. They are truly the people that would give you the shirts off their backs to help. Tyler is the happiest and smiliest toddler you can imagine. Even in this tragedy, he just doesn't understand why he can't go home. Becky was my first friend when I moved to Fort Myers in 2009, and has always been there for me in any time of need. Becky was the first person my now husband Mike showed my engagement ring to before he proposed, and Mike and I are god-parents to Tyler, who was born in May of 2021. We live thousands of miles away from them now, but are able to see each other a few times a year, and facetime and chat regularly. This tragedy is devasting to them, and being so far away is heartbreaking.
Anything you can do to help this family get back on their feet and put a roof over their son's head would be greatly appreciated. They say it takes a village, and after all they have done for others, now it is our chance to give back to them.
*Clothes and other donations would be beneficial, but as they say, cash is king, and it will begin to help them rebuild and cover unforeseen bills (and deductibles) as they come in. All money raised will be given directly to Becky and Maggie in order to offset costs of repairs (drywall, studs), mold remediation, purchase of household goods, clothes, shelter and other things they need while they try to rebuild, as well as deductibles for their homeowners, car, and flood insurance.
