The Linda Dukes Scholarship
Donation protected
Ms. Linda Dukes, scholar, chemist, and educator, lived a life based upon integrity and sacrifice. As an educator, over her 30-plus year career, she served at Benjamin Banneker, Creekside, Atlanta Metropolitan's Upward Bound Program, Frank McClarin, Independence, and The South Fulton Leadership Academy, amongst other institutions. Of all the schools and surrounding communities she impacted, none was greater than the impact she had while serving at Tri-Cities High School. As most know, "Mama Dukes," as she was affectionately called by many due to her motherly demeanor, took a special interest in assisting children who may have been underprivileged or underserved. There are countless stories of how she went above and beyond to help students in need, and the Dukes family in conjunction with the Tri-Cities Alumni Association, would like to continue her legacy by awarding a $1,000 scholarship, yearly, to a college bound student at Tri-Cities each year for the foreseeable future. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is not only college bound, but a student that has exhibited the ability to overcome adversity while pursuing their educational goals. Ms. Dukes was widely known to give freely to those in need and with the creation of the Linda Dukes "Adversity to University" Scholarship, your kind gifts and donations will help keep her legacy alive.
