The Lillian Coggins Watson Scholarship Fund

Lillian Coggins Watson was an educator in the Roosevelt School District for just under forty years. As a Principal, Mrs. Watson introduced uniforms, chess, and several other unique programs and initiatives that have become a fixture in the Roosevelt Community. To this day, Mrs. Watson has continued her work in the community through The Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce as the Ambassador of Education, The Elizabeth City Sports Hall of Fame as Chairwoman, and a daily Math Zoom course for children, "Math is as Easy as 123". The Lillian Coggins Watson Scholarship, which started in the 2015-2016 school year, has helped a number of students in their pursuit of knowledge in higher education and the Transformation of the Universe.
