Hi, my name is Rockesha Hymans. I live in Jamaica and have been battling sickle cell disease my entire life. The pain has been overwhelming, and now my hip has deteriorated so badly that doctors say I urgently need a hip replacement surgery, or I could face losing my foot.
Because of my illness, I am unable to work and provide for myself. Every day is a struggle—not just with pain, but with the worry of how I will take care of my little boy. I’m a mom to a toddler who needs me, and it breaks my heart that I can’t run, play, or even carry him without fear of falling. He deserves a healthy, strong mom by his side.
The cost of my surgery, medical care, and recovery is $707,700 Jamaican dollars, far more than I can afford on my own. That is why I am asking for help—from friends, family, and kind strangers. Every donation, share, or prayer brings me one step closer to walking again and being there for my son.
I’ve fought all my life, but now I need your help. Please help me hold on to hope.
Sidnote: if you have any recommendations to where I can get assistance in Jamaica please lead me in that direction.
