Honoring the Life of Marian Argonza Hopwood

This is Sue, Marian's daughter-in-law. I share this on behalf of my husband Jason and his beloved mother's family. It is evident - the impact Marian had on so many people, and there is comfort through the kind words shared about experiencing this great and sudden loss. The family appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and offers of assistance from our community.

Despite the reality that tomorrow is not promised, Marian in the eyes of many is a "forever" figure. She was born, raised, and had lived her entire life in the City of Vallejo, California. She was a memorable professional and leader to those who served alongside her throughout decades of passionate work. She dedicated several years to family reunions and promoting the legacy of her Vallejo Filipino pioneer grandparents and their fellow neighboring families. She was president of the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) Vallejo chapter through which she was able to share this multi-generational treasure with those rooted and grafted in.

As Marian's family sorts through matters that come with such unexpected loss, in the midst of their grief, there are sensitive arrangements to be made during this difficult time. There is no doubt that many in this community seek to honor Marian's cherished life. Should you find it appropriate to help donate towards Marian's final farewell, which will support costs of final resting place and memorial services, no matter the amount - the family is deeply grateful for your generosity that will make a meaningful difference and ease multiple challenges.

Service date is still pending; however, her wish was to be next to her DeeDee at All Souls in Vallejo. Updates will be provided.
