The Leslie Rockhold Family Fund
If you're reading this, there's a good chance you knew Leslie Rockhold. (And if you didn't, you really missed out.) She passed away suddenly, on Monday, February 18th. This wasn't a long, drawn-out battle with a mysterious illness - she went to the hospital with a severe headache and blurred vision just 2 weeks prior to her death. After some quick tests, it turns out she had an aneurysm, which required immediate and life-threatening brain surgery. The surgery then required a minimum of 2 weeks in the intensive care unit, which gave her access to 24 hour care from nurses and doctors at University Hospital. She spent the entire time under constant monitoring, taking countless medicines and undergoing numerous procedures before things took a turn for the worst late Sunday night.
Because of the suddenness of this tragic series of events, our family wasn't prepared to undertake such a financial burden - not that anyone ever is. The surgery, along with the stay in the ICU has led to significant medical bills and costs that grew larger every day that she was fighting for her life in a battle she ultimately lost.
Due to the unexpected nature of the circumstances, we're hoping that anyone who knew her, and even those that didn't, would help in anyway they can. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Please help if you can.
UPDATE: After an incredible amount of support, the initial goal of $5,000 was reached. We've raised that to $10,000 to help with funeral costs and other expenses surrounding the death. Thank you so much to all that have shared, commented and donated - The Rockholds
