The Legacy of Wez

Donation protected
Our much loved and greatly respected Wez passed suddenly and unexpectedly, too young and too soon on Wednesday 29th June.

Wez was generous and loving to a fault; he had the utmost respect for all life and although ultimately a humanist, he was considered a better feminist than most women. He was a child at heart, which is probably why children loved him so much.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you was something he lived by, yet never judged those who lived their lives differently.

Wez and Layle, his dedicated life partner of over 30 years, have spent the past 15 years financially supporting and raising their adopted children who live in Cambodia. This has involved a very hands-on approach, including regular visits and sometimes daily communication. Many may be unaware that Wez gave a large percentage of his earnings to educate, feed and house the children that he and Layle have cared for over the years.

You may or may not know that Wez has gone without many times in his life, to support those he loved - and there were many. Perhaps it was you, or someone you know and love? His boundless generosity helped all of those who knew him and many who may never know where the help even came from because that's the kind of man he was. Because it gave him so much joy to do so. If you were hungry, he fed you; if you needed somewhere to sleep, he would find you a bed; a shoulder to cry on - he had a strong and ever-ready set of those and if you couldn't reach them, he would bring them down to you, to rest your head upon.

Wez never expected anything in return, which is exactly why this GoFundMe campaign was set up; to continue his life's work.

All wez ever wanted was a better world for all of us, where everyone had what they needed. This is what he worked tirelessly towards for the majority of his adult life.

We are asking for funds to assist Layle to continue the financial support that Wez gave to their adopted children in Cambodia and to the community they share their lives with. Very few of us have the time or dedication to pursue such a noble cause but we do have a little spare cash that we can perhaps do without so that Wez's legacy can live on.

$5? $50? $500? Any amount that you can give will work towards maintaining the legacy of Wez.

Please help Layle carry on Wez's legacy, to continue what he worked tirelessly towards, until his final breath.

RIP mate, you bloody legend!
