The Lebanese Red Cross & other healthcare facilities

Since October 7th 2023, Lebanon has yet again been on the frontline of Zionist aggression, violence and war crimes. As of December 2024, at least 3,900 people in Lebanon have been killed by Israeli airstrikes and drone strikes, and has now exceeded 4,000, including at least 248 children. The Health Ministry has also reported 16,520 wounded. Even following the apparent ceasefire in Lebanon in February 2024, Israel has continued to bomb and strike residential targets in the South and in Beirut.
As in Gaza, Israel have no issue breaking international humanitarian law, by indiscriminately targeting hospitals, healthcare, ambulances and health workers. The same has been seen in Lebanon, where the World Health Organisation, as of 31st October 2024, have reported:
• 36 attacks on healthcare facilities
• 85 health workers killed and 51 injured while on duty.
Massacres have been carried out in Southern villages along the border, as well as the Southern cities of Nabatiyeh, Tyre and Sidon, and many attacks on heavily residential areas in the southern suburbs of Beirut. One of the largest massacres, in the town of Ain Al Delb, just outside Sidon, was a strike on a 6-story residential building, which killed 73 people, including 23 children and 19 women, wiping out several families.
Many of these attacks and atrocities are carried out on the South of the country, which borders the Zionist entity, whos people have remained resistant and resilient, and stood up for the Palestinian people without a moment of hesitation. Due to the destruction caused, and various sanctions placed on organisations and individuals, the healthcare and emergency response services have been under unprecedented pressure, This was particularly seen after the ‘pager attack’ of September 2024, carried out by Israel, that detonated thousands of pager devices simultaneously, leading to over 42 deaths, including children, and over 3,500 injured, particularly to the face causing blinding and to the lower torso damaging vital organs, all within a few minutes.
The destruction caused in many of the Southern border towns and villages adds another layer of complication for the healthcare services and emergency responses, as they have to search through the rubble for survivors and martyrs. Such as the town of Kfarkila, where over 90% of the buildings were damaged and destroyed, and the population were displaced to other areas in the country.
I want to raise funds to send to these healthcare workers and organisations that are on the frontline in Lebanon saving lives and retrieving the bodies of martyrs, and then providing care and rehab further down the line. With funds that are risen, I will donate 50% to the Lebanese Red Cross/Red Crescent, and 50% to a non-profit charity named Al Mabarrat.
Lebanese Red Cross/Red Crescent:
• Ambulance response & Search and Rescue: ambulance volunteers are on the frontline of the response in all areas, and also help to evacuate hospitals in South Lebanon.
