The Leasure Family Farm Fire Recovery
Donation protected
On behalf of several members of the Leasure family, I was asked to assist with helping to raise funds. On Friday July 8th, the Leasure Dairy Farm lost a precious piece of its history to a barn fire that brought down nearly an acre worth of buildings, two being the original barn on the property built in 1880 and another being the original milk house that was used when the farm became a dairy business. Not only were these buildings the primary housing for all of the dairy cows, heifers, and calves but they were also used for feeding the animals and for storage. Thankfully, all humans and animals made it through this devastating fire safe and unharmed. Although the Leasure’s have insurance, it will not cover everything that was lost. They have a lot of hard work ahead of them and any help would be greatly appreciated.
