The Laurel Cooley Family-Everyone's Mom

 

Hello, My name is Stephanie Lane(Some of you may know my last name as Hofacker, from my past marriage.). This is my best friend, Laurel Cooley. She died tragically on Dec. 10, 2021 in a car accident with a semi acrossed Rt. 6 in Vermilion Township at about 7AM. If anyone knows Laurel, you know she changed your life with just one conversation. I was in a long-term, abusive realtionship and she helped me get strong enough to leave. I could never say enough about her here to fill this page. She may also have corrected my grammer if I went on too much about her or didn't use commas appropriately. She and her husband helped me move out of my house suddenly in 2019.

 

She leaves behind 4 children (Rebecca, Simon, Mason and Ada) and an amazing husband, Lester. She also had a non-profit she started called "Everyone's Mom" that worked with Huron City Schools. I was a member of the board. I worked in the schools with students with her at the same time and on my own time. She cared for so many that I want to make sure I am doing everything she needs me to do for her family, who is left behind. That is the reason for this fund. I want to make sure things are taken care of while they grieve and learn to live life without her. There will be funeral expenses, extra living cost from her loss of income, child care for her youngest daughter who is 4 years old and other random expenses. This won't make up for the loss we feel for her in our hearts but, it will make up for the little things she always tried to take care of for her family. All funds will be given to Lester Cooley to take care of the needs of his family. Thank you so much for anything you do for this family and this fund. She will never be forgotten.
