The last step for Ahmed to leave Gaza

Hi there,

My name is Mica and I’m creating/ sharing this fundraiser for two of my dear friends, Ahmed and his best friend Hamada.

Ahmed has been my friend for years and he continues to be full of love for those around him even as his world falls apart in front of him.

Even though he’s just 22, Ahmed has lived through war and hardships absolutely unimaginable but still puts every bit of effort into dedicating himself to his study, his hobbies, his friends, his family and cats.

He has always been the first to offer advice, memes, a place to vent and asks for nothing in return but now it’s his turn to get the support he has so kindly always given.

It breaks his heart to leave his whole life in Gaza but he has no other choice. The beautiful house, built and covered in hand-painted murals by his family and friends, has been bombed and he now lives in a tent with half a solar-panel keeping it running.

I met Hamada through Ahmed and he’s every bit as lovely. Through Hamada’s fundraising, they have raised enough to apply for the permits to leave Gaza and enter Egypt- they plan to leave together.

This leaves a whole new issue, when they get through the border, they will have absolutely nothing left which puts them at incredible risk- they don’t even know where they will sleep for the first night they’re out.

They have 20-30 days until the permits go through which leaves me 20-30 days to try and raise as much money to give them a starting chance to:

-Get accommodation (They have not had a bedroom or proper bed in months)

-Get seen by doctors (Ahmed desperately needs proper medical attention)

-Finally get proper meals (They have not been able to eat a proper meal in too long)

-Have stability to work (They can’t work if the above aren’t addressed first)

-Eventually fly to Europe to seek refuge.

The hard part has been done but this is the final push to secure them their much deserved safety and dignity after fleeing such a hellscape.

Ahmed and Hamada deserve their freedom, they deserve a chance at a life they have barely lived.
