The Last Frontier TV

Alec Doomadgee Indigenous Activist, TV personality and Filmmaker needs your support in the development of the powerful cultural series The Last Frontier. After a long battle to get this made this project has seen many roadblocks. The team cannot stress enough the grave importance and power of supporting indigenous filmmakers. The telling of cultural stories from culturally diverse people in Australia makes up for a small percentage of the filmmaking industry.

The Last Frontier sees powerful and relevant conversations between Artists and Alec as we are hypnotically guided by song and dance. Each artist has a harrowing tale about their experiences related to BLM in Australia and share how music has helped them and their connection to both country and community. The series takes us on a journey of a sacred festival in the heart of his tribal homeland that united First Nations People from around the globe in a spectacular display of culture.

As we are “welcomed to country” beneath the Queensland skys, it is almost as if we can smell the smoke and feel the red earth beneath our feet. We are hypnotically taken on a spiritual journey by Alec Doomadgee as he shares the hardships and obstacles of creating this powerful festival, in what is considered “The Last Frontier”. The Gulf Country Frontier Days Festival is the authentic REAL Outback Australian experience and brings together National and International musicians, Indigenous and First Nation's performers and Australia's best cowboys and cowgirls into the heart of Queensland's Lower Gulf Country.

For the first time in history, Frontier Days TV brings to our screens singing, dancing, songs and language spoken from other Nations around the world coming together to celebrate culture, the past, and tell the stories of the present. For Alec the real purpose of the festival is medicine. Medicine for the soul, medicine for the heart, and medicine to help heal from the past and move forward to the future. Its “Medicine For The People”  let the healing begin….

Standing on the sacred salt flats in Burketown, in remote outback north-west Queensland, Alec Doomadgee is a commanding force. He speaks to the crowd, a mixture of Indigenous and non-Indigenous locals and tourists, and those who have travelled from overseas to visit the Gulf Frontier Days Festival, which he organises. They include indigenous Canadians, the Cree people, New Zealand's Maori contingency and many more as they stand as one to deliver what is simply called medicine. We're welcomed to a space on the sacred salt flats of the Gangalidda people and they've inhabited and lived on this land here for 65,000 years of a coming together of native nations made up of Indigenous Australians from Burketown, Doomadgee, and Mornington Island join together with First Nations peoples from all around the world.

Frontier Days TV shares world class live performances and stories by the likes of  Troy Cesar-Daley, Kasey Chambers, Katchafire (NZ), Micki Free (USA), Digging Roots (CAN), Jon Stevens, Archie Roach, Yothu Yindi , Shane Howard (Goanna) who have previously performed at the Festival, along with A list celebrity's like ROB THOMAS together with local and international Indigenous musicians in an entertaining and invigorating experience.

Alec shares with us an intimate behind the scenes look at the festival's creation and the mechanics plus insightful interviews with artists including dancers that have performed in previous years. Each episode we get to meet Australia's top Rodeo talent, Australian music royalty and crazy outback characters that captivate and intrigue with stories, live performances and dance in an exceptional showcase of culture and the coming together of First Nations People in “The Last Frontier”.

This TV show is for the people! To help showcase the power and beauty of culture, music, dance and COUNTRY.

Thanks for supporting indigenous cultures and its people.
