Hello, Everyone!
Welcome to the GoFundMe page of The Language of Breathing!
ABOUT:
My name is Becky Tran, and I am the writer and director of The Language of Breathing, a short film that explores different ways people breathe in correlation and conflict with facial expressions. I am a senior at California State University, Long Beach, majoring in film with a double concentration in production management and post-production. For this last spring semester, I was given the opportunity to pitch and direct my first-ever short film.
In today’s busy world, everyone is occupied. We are all walking beings involved in various activities such as school, work, passion projects, etc. Due to the nature of how busy our lives can be; the small things within us can often become overlooked. These small and automatic things that are a part of us are large factors in living.
As someone who is an empath that struggles with both anxiety and feeling emotions deeply, my goal with this short film is to invite viewers to draw attention to the area in life that is often taken for granted: our breathing. Anxiety has been physically, mentally, and emotionally taxing to the point of indifference. With full knowledge of that, I want to shed light on the significance that breathing has on our day-to-day activities.
Our emotions and breathing function as a huge role in our life. Sometimes all it takes is to pause for a moment, breathe, and know that everything will be okay. The moment in between an inhale and an exhale amid positive and negative emotions is a space where we meet ourselves where we’re at.
I am excited to share this with you all and am extremely thankful for my amazing cast and crew who are committed to bringing this story to life!
OUR GOAL:
With that being said, I want to personally invite you to walk alongside and support making this short film possible by donating to our goal.
