Hey guys! Our friend Jessica is in need of our help. Recently her son Tyler was admitted into the Children’s hospital for endocarditis. He will need a lengthy amount of antibiotics as well as possible surgery in the near future. We are collecting PTO donations at work and decided we could extend this opportunity to people who are able to donate money as well. Some updates on Tyler. We are on day 4 of our hospital stay. The organism that he has is so rare that there is no literature of what antibiotics it responds to so the cultures were sent to Mayo Clinic for further testing. He had been fever free from Thursday until yesterday when he spiked a temp of 103 - they have added another antibiotic in addition to the Vancomycin he is currently getting. Our best case scenario is a 6 week course of antibiotics with probable surgery to replace the homograft that is the base of his pulmonary artery and valve. That will be most likely at Vanderbilt Hospital which is in Nashville (about 2 hours from us). I appreciate all the support and prayers we have received so far and please please please keep praying for him. I know he is in God’s hands, but it is so hard to watch him go through this. ❤️
