The Kip Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Less than a week after his 50th birthday, on Tuesday Aug 20th, our friend and mentor, Kip Katz, suffered a stroke and was admitted to the hospital.
It is important to know that stroke recovery is slow and unpredictable. Doctors, nurses, and therapists can only guess at how a patient will respond according to the location and severity of the stroke. It is the support of the survivor’s family, and friends that can make all the difference in the recovery process. Kip's family has been by his side every moment of every day. Flying in from New York, Oregon and Mexico to care for him in the hospital.
In an effort to ease the financial burden on his family, we at Cinnabar are looking to our friends in the themed entertainment, museums, and fabrication shops and beyond to help them while they help Kip recover.
How you can help:
The best and most direct way you can help is through this GoFundMe effort. Sharing this effort with friends, and contributing donations will make a huge difference in the quality of care his family is able to give him.
These donations will help to cover:
Airfare and travel for Kip's mother Claudia, and father, Ben, as they fly back and forth across the country to care for him, return home, and back again.
Help Kip's girlfriend of 15 years, Brenda, who is taking a significant amount of time off work to be by his side and attend to his needs.
And finally, his daughter Moriah, who is in trying to stay in school, while also caring for her father and managing his affairs.
The Kip Fan Club:
Kip has been in this industry and with Cinnabar for over 20 years, and has made many friends. To ease the overwhelm of well wishes on his family, we have created an email to send him “Get Well Soon” emails for when he’s able to receive them: [email redacted]
