The Kim Markasky Family Needs our HELP!
Kim is my sister-in-law, and one of the strongest people I have ever met. She is a loving wife, mother and friend. I am organizing this Go-Fund-Me to help her family out with their immense and quickly growing medical and household expenses.
Kim has been dealing with Stage 4 cervical cancer since her diagnosis is February 2018. After several surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy throughout the year, she was able to go into remission and finally get a short break. After recovering from a hysterectomy, she started radiation treatments that require her to travel back and forth to the Cleveland Clinic every day for 5-6 weeks. She received her final radiation treatment 4 days before Christmas 2018 and got the news that “all was well”! Early in January 2019 Kim started to experience neuropathy (lack of feeling) in her feet and legs. This is often a side effect of the radiation, so she tried not to worry. With this, she also began having pain in her left leg. The pain continued to grow to the point where she could not move or function. More doctor visits, testing, and scans showed that she now had acquired cancer growths in her stomach that required more surgeries. Another NEW growth wrapped around the main artery in her left leg was found, and it was determined that this was inoperable. The Cleveland Clinic have suggested an Immunotherapy infusion treatment. Needless-to-say, these are VERY EXPENSIVE!
She continues to work as much as she can, but is often unable to due to pain, sickness associated with the treatments, and the inability to move around. The radiation treatments are exhausting and physically draining. Her husband, Danny, has been by her side throughout everything, but he is also missing a lot of work and it has been increasingly hard to just take care of the normal day to day living expenses. Add to this the mounting medical bills and unwillingness of the medical institutions to offer any kind of financial assistance. They are trying to keep up with the payments, but this is next to impossible. With a teenage son, (Matthew) living expenses, house payments, doctor bills, medical treatments, travel costs, and the bills just piling up, we are reaching out to ask for just a little help.
Please help! Just a little bit can go a long way, if we all reach out to those who need us. We are not hoping to win the lottery! We are just trying to keep it together. Sometimes you just need a small helping hand to lift you up and get you on your way.
We all need a hand once in awhile.
