Riding out of bounds - Kevin Fealy Creative Treatment Memorial Fund
There are plenty of people who don’t want to live on a plotted trajectory path, even in sickness. Kevin wanted the opportunity to understand and to seek out something different. He sought information, his own way. If he was able to give to someone to pursue a medical treatment that was unconventional, he would want to do it because there’s so much uncharted territory - which is what he loved to do. He was so grateful to have the ability to carve out that path for himself. He had amazing resources and support that helped him contemplate alternative paths.

Kevin always asked why - tell me why - he didn’t take answers at face value. He was looking for his own version of that. If the proposed treatment didn’t make sense, he didn’t do it. He would want to empower someone to make their own decisions about what’s best for them, in an informed way. It made him feel better, empowered. He had some of the most productive times of his life during some of the hardest times of his life. He never put his life on hold - he took hold of it.
Kevin would want to create that opportunity for other people. He had two years of sickness - but two years of successes, love and learning in that time. He was plugged in.
This fund is intended to help someone else pursue alternative holistic treatments as Kevin did, whether in the form of non-traditional medicine, alternative healing energy, self-care, and individualized and holistic therapies to nurture the mind, body and spirit.
Some examples of these therapies would be: acupuncture, health/dietary counseling, food sensitivity testing, reiki, vitamins/supplements, energy healing certifications, health education, yoga classes, massage (deep tissue, lymphatic drainage etc) , art therapy, organic groceries, hemp products, skin treatments, chiropractic and physical therapies, financing for alternative doctors, wellness retreats, home health care supplies, mental health therapy for patients and caregivers, emotional support dogs.

*All interested beneficiaries will be vetted through a thorough proposal and review process. The Riding out of Bounds checking account will be managed by Ashleigh Caws, who will distribute the funds to approved beneficiaries. Funds will be gifted in a lump sum to all approved beneficiaries via a Riding out of Bounds personal check. Approved beneficiaries will also receive an approval letter detailing the approved expenses.*
