The Kameenui's Need Our Help
Donation protected
Recently, eastern North Carolina was devastated by hurricane Florence. Many people have suffered great losses, and among those people are my parents John and Jeannette Kameenui, younger brother Christian, and mom's sweet dog Ramsey.
Most of my family evacuated. But my mom stayed behind to take care of the patients at her nursing home and make sure they had company throughout the wicked storm. She came home from work to get a couple of things and found their place was destroyed. The ceiling came down and ruined everything. They had renters insurance and assumed would be receiving help with finding a new place and replacing all the things they've lost.
Today they found out that their insurance company is not approving their claim and saying the damage done "was not hurricane related". They are telling my parents the apartment complex is at fault. This leaves them with no way to cover a deposit for a new place, no way to turn on utilities, and no way to replace furniture, food, or basic necessities.
While we are all so thankful to have made it through the storm safely, my parents and brother now need our help more than ever. I am starting this campaign for them. Lots of our family and friends have asked how they can help, and what we need. I'm hoping we can all come together and help them get back on their feet. No one deserves this more than my parents, and if you know them, you know they are the most selfless people on the planet. Even if you can't donate, sharing this will help as well. Thank you!!
