Help the Kailua Junior Men compete in the 2024 World Sprints

Aloha! We are the Kailua Junior Men's Team from Kailua Canoe Club, and we have been given the opportunity to compete in this month's 2024 World Sprints Race in Hilo, Hawaiʻi.

We have been training for the past year for this incredible opportunity, putting in countless hours under the sun and numerous hours in the ocean. Through the strenuous practices, we stay strong, knowing that paddling isn't just a sport, but rather, it is a representation of our Hawaiian culture and home. Paddling allows us to share our Native Hawaiian culture and spread it to people across all the islands and all different countries.

In the coming weeks, we will be flying up to Hilo to compete in a trial race that will help us qualify for the championship race in August. Our team (Rylan Shriver, Lanson Gentry, Logan Machado, Nakoa Palmer, Kana Palmer, and Kalaʻi Watanabe) is looking to raise $3,000 to help support the trip and the race. The funds raised will help to cover race registration, flights, hotel stay, car rental, and food costs. Any contribution of any amount would be deeply appreciated and would greatly help to assist us with our trip to Hilo.
