Please donate to our campaign to help us achieve our goal. Every donation, big AND small, helps us!
Our “Gnome More Debt” Capital Campaign is a call to secure Juniper’s future.
By raising this money (which will bring us to our total goal of $108,000 raised this year) we can lift the burden of debt, establish an emergency fund, expand support for our incredible teachers (including health care and retirement benefits), enrich our unique indoor and outdoor learning spaces, and ensure that this magical, nurturing education remains accessible to families of all income levels.
In a world where childhood is hurried and driven by technology, The Juniper School stands as a rare sanctuary — a place where every child is seen and cherished—where their young lives can unfold at their own natural pace. Here, the innate goodness of children isn’t just believed in, it’s protected. Through creative play, imagination, daily rhythms, beauty, and kindness, Juniper gives children the gift of wonder-filled days and the steady foundation to grow into strong, resilient, empathetic human beings.
Behind the scenes, the Juniper School Model of Care ensures that everyone who carries this mission — teachers, administrators, board members, parents, and the wider community — is healthy, supported, and able to give their best. But a school built on whole-child values also needs whole-school stability.
After years of rapid growth, caring for an aging building, and essential but costly repairs, Juniper is carrying debt that challenges its ability to grow sustainably over time and serve more families in the coming years. A bright, stable, and responsible future requires skillful action now.
The Juniper School is an independent 501(c)(3) charter school in Columbus, OH. We currently serve 0-3 year olds in our Caregiver/Child Classes, 3-6 year olds in our Early Childhood and Kindergarten, and Grade One to Grade Five in our Grade School.
The meaning behind "Gnome More Debt": We are a nature-based school and associate member of WECAN (Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America). In Waldorf teaching, Gnomes are symbolic of the life and energy that exist within the mineral world and they play an important role in teaching children empathy for the earth. With the funds raised from this campaign, we hope to sustain this teaching for many years to come.
