The Journey's Not Over
***UPDATE: Thank you all so so soooooooo much for this help! The goal has been reached. As mentioned in the description it is the bare
minimum. I don’t know how long it will take till I’m able to drive again so I will close out this campaign Saturday. I have phone bill which is $149
and rent which is $450 that I would have paid for on my own until this happened. I just feel guilty to ask for anymore. But again thank you so
much and I will keep this up till Saturday (at the latest Monday the 7th)***
December 2, 2020 at 9am I was working Lyft dropping off a passenger to her job. Traffic was heavy. I was going between 35-40mph before crossing an intersection on a main street. About a car length away before the intersection the light turned
yellow. As most LA drivers do I decided to keep going because if I pushed the
breaks it would have been too sudden.
But on the other side there was a truck getting ready to turn onto the opposing
street. He thought I was going to stop and i thought he was going to turn after I
passed. But unfortunately that wasn't the case.
Thankfully the passenger, the other driver, and I are fine. We left with a few
bruises and marks, but nothing that needed medical attention. Just both of our
cars are totaled as you can see.
I work Lyft almost everyday. 5k+ rides and I have never been in an accident until
that day. It is my only full-time job. Especially during these times it is perfect as
many places are unsafe or have too many applicants applying. And the most
important reason why I do lyft is because of the flexibility. As I am working to be
an industry choreographer here in LA and eventually in Korea. This job is perfect
for me to navigate into my dream career.
Unfortunately I wont be able to work Lyft until insurance finishes the
investigation and when Lyft gives me approval to drive again. As the car is a Lyft rental. I don't own my own car.
Im hoping this process takes no more than 2-3 weeks.
The deductible is $338 and will be charged to my account Tuesday Dec 8th.
The remaining $162 is for groceries and bills to last me till hopefully I'm back to
working. I could use a little more, but I know everyones going through it this year
so the amount is the bare minimum.
Any amount helps and thank you so so much in advance!
