The journey to see Simon graduate USMC boot camp!
Donation protected
Hi! So...my best friend of 40 years is trying to make it to San Diego in mid-October to see her son graduate from boot camp. Simon has wanted to be a Marine for so long. He worked hard, graduated early and did everything he needed to so he could achieve his goal. We are so proud of him! His mama will be working her tail off between then and now for all of the expenses but she could use some help. She did the math and figured she will need to come up with about 1500 extra to cover the flight and hotel stay. I know for a fact that she is doing nothing but working from daylight till dark to come up with the funds to travel to California as well as pay her bills and all that adulting stuff.
A lot of people reading this might not know that Simon lost his dad in 2014. That's hard for a young man. He will be 17 when he graduates and he'll still be 17 when he leaves for his first duty station. He's going to go through a lot of firsts alone. With his dad not being there for one of the biggest days of his life, his mom has to be! She's gotta pull double duty and this woman does. She's an amazing mother. So if you all could please, help out. Even if it's just a dollar or a share. Every/Anything counts. I know Simon would be devastated if she couldn't make it. So would she. It breaks my heart to think about it. I'd loan her the money if I had it but as we all know...times are tough. Stuff is crazy expensive! If this wasn't something so very important I wouldn't be here asking.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this! I'm going to turn it over to Deea so she can post updates and information on all the ins and outs. -Ange
