My name is Kimberly Rice-Cofield, and my dear friend and Sister Jackie Colbert was severely burned at home on October 2, 2025 after passing out while cooking rice. Her hand hit the pot and it flipped over on her, the pan and contents staying on her for about 15 minutes, causing 2nd and 3rd degree burns across the right side of her face and body.

Jackie had just recently lost her job, and her insurance lapsed on October 1st. Currently uninsured, she is scheduled to have skin graft surgery and delayed healing on Tuesday, October 14th. In addition, she and her fiancé have been paying out of pocket for her specialized burn creams, gauze, and medications needed for her recovery. There will be more medical supplies needed after surgery as well.

Jackie is a very kind-hearted Mother, fiancé, and a multi-faceted artist. She sings, creates specialized artwork and jewelry, and she is a fashion designer. She has the voice of an angel, enlightening the world as a radio show host and station manager at KPPM Radio. She was in the midst of an international tour called The Hip-Hop Worship Gathering when this incident occurred.

A word from Jackie:

Follow up appointment. God has placed on my heart to document this journey. It will be called “The Journey To Healing: Spiritually, Physically, and Mentally.”

This is a journey like none other. At first I was ashamed to post these videos (before they scrubbed and after they scrubbed). But my spirit keeps saying to share this journey to healing. Someone needs this testimony. I have my moments in which you see, but I know God has some great things in store for me. Yes I cry when I see my face. Yes I ask God why? I have 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my face and on my head. I have 3rd degree burns on my right arm and breast. I have surgery on Tuesday but I know God is a healer and it could have been worse. So I thank God every single day. Thank you to everyone who has prayed, called, texted, or came by. Love you all so very much
