My name is Yolanda Lear, a 25 year old black youth leader from Hackney. Also an aspiring author.
Recently I had written my first ever book, called "The Journey To An Undefeated Mind". A book based on the challenges we may face when overcoming Mental Health. The lessons and blessings we may gain from taking this journey. It’s about getting people to the state where they feel like they have an undefeated mind. Knowing that yes, in life we may take some losses but we will not be defeated.
The book is inspired by my own personal journey/battles against Mental Health.
Off the back of my book, I am helping to run some workshops based on Mental Health for young people aged 11-18. I would like to be able to do this on a wider scale and take this even further in the near future.
However right now, as much as I am aiming to self publish/release my book next month. With the current financial struggles I am currently facing. I am finding it extremely hard to come up with the necessary funds, to pay for the likes of the full book cover, money to be able to have copies printed. As well promotion for the book. With the money raised from here, I aim to be able to do all of these. And depending on how much raised. Create a platform to bring the Mental health community today, through the likes of creative arts and media. Motivational videos/talks, podcasts and events. With what is left from the money raised, it will go to buying podcast equipment, creating a website and more.
Any support given is highly appreciated. This may be part of my dream, but it's a small part in a bigger dream to help others fight againsf Mental health. And truly become themselves.
