Brandon ("B" as he is known to our circle) is one of the most thoughtful and caring people you will meet. He plays basketball like he lives his life, in service to others. Now it is time for us to step up to help B and his family.
His son Darius, a 3rd grader, was diagnosed with ALD (AdrenoLeukroDystrophy) disease last year. This deadly genetic disease affects 1 in 18,000 people, most severely affecting boys and men. They are currently in Minnesota for 2 months for a stem-cell transplantation to fight this disease. Darius has just completed 8 straight days of Chemo in preparation for the transplantation.
This family is strong and our community will be strong for them. Unfortunately, the Jones family is going to incur tremendous costs for treatment and travel alone, not to mention other hidden costs that will add up as the family focuses on the well-being and care of Darius.
Join our basketball family in stepping up to support an all-time great human being and his beautiful family.
One member of our basketball family, in his unwavering generosity, has offered to match dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000. Let's take him up on his generosity.
You can read more about the disease, treatment, and on-going research at www.stopald.org.
